Course Description.

The School of Missions and Evangelism (SOME) is a secondary school that is designed to equip new and old missionaries to be obedient to the call of God on their lives – being a part of the waves of missionaries flooding the coasts of the world.

We are a community of people that want to Make God Known throughout the earth, whatever it takes. During the SOME you will gain tools and understanding to effectively communicate the Gospel with the lost, gain an understanding of what sustainable long-term missions looks like, and you will gain hands-on experience in both local and global missions. You don’t have to be a master evangelist to take this school, you just have to be willing to take the next step of obedience.

Our Aim is 4-Fold:

1. Impart passion for soul winning;
2. Identify gifts and callings;
3. Train long term workers;
4. Inspire Ventures of faith.

Lecture.

The lecture phase (12 weeks) of SOME consists of both classroom time (learning from experienced and seasoned missionaries) as well as hours of practical ministry time (knowing how to share the Gospel means action). We will have lecture topics such as: evangelism, Gospel contextualization with different worldviews, pioneering, community development in missions, discipleship making movements, and so much more.

Outreach.

SOME participants will be assisted by staff in planning and executing their outreach portion of the school. That’s right, you and your fellow participants will plan your own outreach to one of YWAM Montana’s target locations. This minimum of 12 week outreach will consist of learning how to plan and execute an outreach, communicating with contacts, sharing the Gospel cross-culturally, and on the ground missions training/experience.

Over 2000 years after Jesus gave us the Great Commission, the devastating news is that there are still 3.2 billion people in the world that do not have access to the Gospel. The SOME aims to train, equip, and mobilize passionate missionaries to go wherever God calls them and to do whatever it takes to reach the 3.2 billion.

  After working a normal job after high school, I wanted more. I found myself wanting to grow in my relationship with the Lord more than I wanted the status quo. So I did DTS in 2017, and it was here that I saw the weight of the Gospel and the need for the Gospel in the nations. In DTS I dedicated my life to making God known. He has given me a passion to see His name become famous where His name is not yet known.

  I was ruined for the ordinary in DTS in 2015, where God called me into a lifetime of missions. I am passionate about seeing the beautiful redemption of Jesus meet people, even in their most messy places. People, nations, and Asia are all things I love, but Jesus is the one who holds my heart. The burning passion of my life is to see the 3.2 billion unreached peoples of the world know how loved they are.

  Hey there! My name is Lauren, I am 29 years old, and I have been a part of YWAM for 6 years. From doing DTS in Germany, sharing the Gospel in 14 countries, to being here at YWAM Montana today. It has been a wild and incredible ride and I have loved every minute of it! A few things about me are: I love a good food experience, I love the Middle East, I love thrifting, and I love playing video games. Some of my favorite shows/movies are; the office, pride and prejudice, and the goonies. A weird fact about me is I am an identical twin and my husband is a twin as well. I am really excited to staff the School of Missions and Evangelism because over the years I have grown a big heart towards doing long term missions effectively and sustainably, and teaching others to do the same. It is a part of the calling on my husband and I's lives, and I love that we get to be a part of a school that brings together people that are like minded. My husband and I plan on doing long term missions in Central Asia which is why we felt the Lord lead us to be a part of this school. I desperately long for the muslim world to come to know what the gospel is and who Jesus is, and I am excited to be a part of what He is doing there.
