AN INTRODUCTION TO ARCHITECTS IN MISSIONS
Course Description.
The transition from academia to professional practice is a challenging adjustment. Understanding the trajectory of different career paths is important, and Summer Studio provides a space for reflection and guidance. Its vision is to develop and champion leaders in service and design.
Summer Studio explores how Christian principles can inform a career in architecture. Speakers from around the country will share their expertise on design, business, and world missions. Lectures, small groups, and one-on-one mentorship will focus on faith and vocation. The Studio culminates with a small design/build project for the local community. Each participant has the potential to earn 250 AXP hours toward NCARB’s requirements for licensure.

100 Fold Summer Studio changed the trajectory of my life and career. It has also helped change the atmosphere in our architecture studio at UVA: there is a Christian professor who has become more open about sharing his faith because there are more students [involved with] 100 Fold.

The Lord really showed me how much fear I have in failure, in not being accepted, and in identity struggles, that I had swept under the rug. He really used this community to redeem those things for me. I’ve learned so much more about architecture by learning about the Lord first!
