Course Description.
Word By Heart is training story tellers- bringing the words of Jesus to life by bridging cultures and languages. Word By Heart is a program used to “rememberize” scriptures. The goal of this course is for the scriptures to become so real that we remember them and share them just like events and experiences in our own lives. You will become like an eyewitness to Jesus’ story, experiencing him through your own imagination…as if you literally walked with him and saw the eyes of the blind opened.
This course is about knowing Jesus personally and sharing him in a unique way through the prism of your personality, humor and language; while still using the exact words of scripture. All ages, starting as young as eight years old, are invited to come and join us on this journey. Additionally, although the lecture phase is given in English, you will learn and share the stories in your own native language.

Lecture.
Word By Heart is a three month school taking place on location. During this course the student will learn a 90 minute abridged version of the gospel of Luke, using the exact words of scripture. At the end of the three months the student will present the gospel to a live audience.
Method.
In-depth discussion of the passage at hand, re-imagining the word for yourself, personalising the passage, learning the exact words of scripture, and sharing the story.

BrazilWBH Co-LeaderNaara comes from beautiful Brazil! She loves to study and read and has a degree in Social Work and Theology. Naara Did here DTS in 2012 in Richmond, VA and has been working with YWAM ever since. When it comes to free-time Naara enjoys reading, watching superhero movies, taking walks, and time with her parents and brother. Word By Heart has made a real change in Naara's life, and she loves watching people grow to know more about God and helping them along the way.
Kendra Pettry
AlaskaLoves BakingKendra hails from a small village in rural Alaska. She has been married to her husband Brad for 10 years and has three children ages 8, 6 and 4. She joined YWAM in 2008 and completed her DTS in Salem, OR. She has served with YWAM for 12 years in several locations and in various roles, taking special interest in one-on-one discipleship and co-leading the kitchen ministry at YWAM Montana. Kendra enjoys homeschooling her children, teaching piano, and sewing in her spare time.
Nina
GermanyWBH StaffNina is originally from Germany but has lived in Norway since 2019. She did her DTS in Kona, Hawaii. It was there that she also developed a passion for Word by Heart. She completed her WBH School in Germany in 2018. Since then, she has always dreamed about reaching more people with this incredible method to meditate on the Word of God. This fall she will pioneer the WBH School in Skien, Norway. In her free time, Nina loves gathering people around a table with good food and good conversation. She loves traveling, knitting, and especially spending time with her nieces and nephews. Nina loves to walk alongside young people to help them to develop and grow in their skills, talents, and character.
